Hi! My name is Sarah and welcome to my blog. I am 24 years old. In January 2018 I moved to California, outside of San Francisco known as the Bay Area. So what does a 24 year old normally do in one of the most touristy cities in America. Well lets rewind to how I got to where I am today.
I was born and raised in Maryland. I belong to a big family that consists of my parents, my three brothers, my sister and of course our pets. Let’s just say a variety of animals, but most importantly I grew up loving animals. My family and I are close and that still holds true today. Growing up, we would watch movies, go on hikes, play card and or board games. We would go to the beaches in North Carolina for vacation every year as a family. When I look back on my childhood I know without a doubt that the love and support of my family, shaped me into the person I am today.
I grew up going to church for as long as I can remember. I got baptized around 8 years old and continued to grow in my relationship with God as I went to church every week, attended small groups, retreats and camps. As I got older, I continued to attend church, serve kids and well as attend small groups where I made lasting friendships. I served at a Christian camp for a few summers during high school and this experience only showed me my love for serving and kids.
God put a love for kids on my heart and I knew for a long time that I wanted to work with kids and that’s what I did. I attended two years at a community college, continued to serve with kids at church and had a part time job working at a day care. After community college, I transferred to a 4 year college and finally my hard work paid off when I graduated from Towson University with my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.
For a couple reasons, I moved to California few weeks after I graduated college. A few months of looking for a job, I finally found a Pre-K teaching position, doing what I love to do. I’m still teaching at the same place today. When I’m not teaching kids Monday-Friday, there are a few things I love to do. One thing is that I love to explore! I have explored all around California and even adventured outside of California and traveled the west coast. I also enjoy shopping and hobbies like hiking, going to the gym and playing sports. Being in a new state, I knew I had to get connected at a church. I made friends there and with my coworkers, and ever since then, I love hanging out with them whether we watch movies, go hiking and or eating amazing food and talking about life.
The purpose of this all about me post is because I know God is calling me to do the World Race and this is one of the first steps of starting this amazing adventure God is going to do in my life. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
