There are a lot of unknowns with whether or not the coronavirus will affect my opportunity to go on the World Race. If I am still able to go, the next stop I will be going to a country that borders Costa Rica; a country called Panama. Here are five facts about Panama that are quite intriguing.

-August 15th 1914 is the year the Panama Canal opened.

-To build the canal at that time in history cost $350 million dollars.

-Panama City (which is the capital of Panama) has 4 million people that live there. That is half of the countries population.

-In Panama, over 10,000 species of plants grow here. There are 1200 different kinds of orchids.

-Only relating to Central American, the largest airport happens to be Panama’s Tocumen International Airport.
