September has been busy and relaxing at the same time. Here is an update on what I have been doing and the next weeks to come.
My BROTHER got married and I have a new sister in law, Hannah! I flew back to Maryland September 5th and was home for 8 days. Yes, flying looks different during Covid times, but it was worth it! I was home before other family members and relatives came into town. This time was special to me because I was able to celebrate my mother and my nephew’s birthday the weekend before the wedding. I was able to spend time with my parents dogs (Suka and Koda), watch movies with my family and relax. I was able to see friends of mine that I haven’t seen in months and catch up with them. More family came into town and we had serious, meaningful conversations and we had times filled with laughter, tears flowed from our eyes. I played with my nieces and nephews, met Hannah’s relatives, cooked lots of food and had a great time. The day of the wedding was wonderful. Great venue, perfect weather, spent with some family and friends. It was a special time!
I hopped on a plane the day after the wedding; sad to leave, but grateful for the time I had. Now that I’m back in CA, I went straight to work and have been hanging with my roommates and friends of mine. Grateful for the health I have as I continue to go into work and see friends that help me grow each day.
The wildfires out here are awful and thankfully I was in MD for the worst of the smoke. Even though I flew into CA seeing and smelling the smoke, it wasn’t as bad as it was and a few days later, it started to clear up. Covid and the fires made a lot of things shut down and continue to keep things shut down, but I am still living, living cautiously and respectfully during these times, but still living!
What’s Next:
-Work! I love my job and even though it has changed because of Covid, the community is still the same which is one of the favorite things I love about where I work.
-More exploring around CA. Still so much to see and do!
-Training Camp. For the World Race there is training to prepare for the real thing. This will be October 9th-16th where I will fly to Georgia and meet all of my other teammates. I don’t know what to expect, but I can’t wait for this experience; to see what I learn, to be challenged and to get out of my comfort zone.
If you have questions, feel free to ask.
