Life in 2022
At the end of January/beginning of February was an event to get the squad back together in Georgia to reconnect, worship, and have sessions. So instead of just going for that, I made a road trip taking about 20 days to go to Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and then back to Maryland. I saw family and friends in Indiana and for the rest of the states, I was able to hang out with friends. I had some car trouble from time to time, so family and friends were so kind to me and landed me a hand when I needed it. But I eventually made it back home safe and sound.
When I got home from my road trip, I started applying for jobs as I continued to work with my parents. I started going to a new church and continued hanging out with friends and family.
I wasn’t having much luck with the jobs that I was applying to. Then the war between Russia and Ukraine started and after hearing about this I was able to fly to Romania for a month in March/April 2022 to help the Ukrainians. My time there was filled with a lot of emotions as I was helping in any way that I can with the refugees. Whether that was helping them buy groceries, new clothes as the seasons changed, showing them around the city, etc.
After Romania, I went to Albania for fun and I connected with the church that I worked with the last time I was in Albania. It was good to see people and continue to keep up with the friendships I made before.
After my travels, I came home to Maryland in May and went on a family vacation, and a couple of weeks after that I went to Nashville with two of my best friends. I finally found another job. I am bartending at a brewery and it has been such a wonderful experience. Meanwhile, I’m living life while hanging out with friends and family.
I continue to dream and set goals for the future. I am figuring out what’s next; never giving up and making the most out of 2022!
