Guatemala isn’t ready for me!
We made it!! H-Squad made it to Guatemala on February 28th. We spent the first two days where we did orientation, cultural information, learning about our ministry, vision casting about what the next two months will be like. That’s right, I’ll be in Guatemala till the end of April. The whole squad is broken up into teams and instead of us working together with others teams like we did in Costa Rica, for the most part, all the teams are by themselves for our time in Guatemala. There are two teams working together on one area, a few teams near each other and other teams dispersed throughout Guatemala.
Where in Guatemala:
I’m living and doing ministry in a town close to Antigua, Guatemala. Oasis (my team) is living in a house across from our ministry host home. Our ministry host is a couple who are devoted to see The Lord move in this community. They have a heart for people and God and I’m excited to learn and work alongside them for the next two months.
What Will I Be Doing:
My team and I are doing ATL for the first two weeks as well as a few other things that we will do the whole time we are here. ATL is Ask The Lord which means we are walking around the community and asking the Lord and Holy Spirit to guide us in sharing the love of God with people. We are also cleaning up a park and making it a fun place for kids to come play. We will be helping students with homework too. On Thursdays are usually our grocery shopping day as well as we helping with Worship Room. Worship Room is located at a coffee shop where we have worship, talk about God and have fellowship with others. On the weekends we will be helping with a church that our hosts are affiliated with and helping with Sunday school, bible studies and youth group.
Vision:
AIM, (Adventures In Missions) and The World Race have been coming to Gautemala for years and have established connections and have preached the gospel all around the country. Since most people have heard about God, our mission is still to preach the gospel, as well as to disciple people to follow Jesus and to have them church plant, go on missions trips and to fully devote their lives to Christ.
Prayer Requests:
-courage, boldness and discerning the Holy Spirit to show the love of God with people.
-fundraising. I’m still in need of money to be fully funded. Pray if the Lord is asking you to give to my trip.
-safety and good health for the squad.
Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers. Text me or message me on social media if you have any questions.
