Vietnam is the eighth country I’ll be going to out of eleven countries. The first thing I think of when I hear Vietnam, is the Vietnam War. But there are many other things that this country is known for. At first Vietnam was two words: Viet Nam. Family, community, humanity and harmony are some of the values that Vietnamese people live by. Ho Chi Minh City has over 8 million people that live in this city and it’s the largest city in Vietnam. In America dogs and cats are a common pet to have, but in Vietnam, the typical pet to have is a potbelly pig. When you want to travel around the town, motorbikes are the most popular transportation. There are 37 million registered motorbikes and only 2 million registered cars.
Learning new things about the countries I’ll be going to makes me more excited to spend a whole month here. I can’t wait, but until then, stay tuned for next weeks blog post.
